We'd like to express special thanks to the Tideswell & District Community Association (TDCA) for their help and support in making this wildflower area possible.

The Cornfield Meadow was first 'ploughed' and sown in April 2018

We planted ...

  • red Flanders poppies

  • purple corncockle

  • blue cornflowers

  • yellow corn marigolds

  • white corn chamomile

  • white oxeye dasies

  & spring barley

We supported the native wildflowers:

field buttercups, scabious, lady's bedstraw, red clover, purple vetch, pignut and many more

As the flowers thrived we were visited my many insects

  • bees, ladybirds, hoverflies,

  • many interesting beetles

  • and lots of butterflies, including peacock, brown meadow, ringlet and skipper butterflies.

& please tell us if you see anymore - we would love to see your pictures on our facebook page too.
